Me:

Born in Staten Island, NY, I am Irish, Ecuadorian and Chinese descent. I enjoy the comedy of Colin Jost and the music of The Wu-Tang Clan. While at Regis High School in Manhattan, I fell in love with Hitchcock and Freud leading to me being a Psych major and a Film minor at Vassar College.

While getting my MA in Cinema Studies from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts at night, I worked at Nickelodeon Home Video and then Viacom's Legal team by day.  Early on,  I learned the value not just of scholarly analysis and critical thinking, but also of the business sides of show business.

My passion for film and psychoanalysis took me to Emory University's Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts where I co-founded the Psychoanalytic Studies Program.  I was also one of the first non-clinicians to become a Fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association.  I realized I was too immature back then to help grown ups with grown up problems and so I stopped my psychoanalytic training.  After finishing up a stint as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Emory, I went to Los Angeles without a job.

Thanks to friends of friends, I was lucky enough to work at the book packager Alloy Entertainment (GOSSIP GIRL) as they were launching their West Coast office.  With the goal of staying within the intersections of film, TV and publishing, I moved to The Gotham Group, a premiere Literary Management and Production company where I was blessed to work with some of the best storytellers in the world. There I represented screenwriters, directors, and animators working across live action and animated film & TV.  I was blessed to rep a list of Oscar, Emmy, Caldecott, and Newbery winners.  I also was the Co-Head of the Book Dept, representing publishers ranging from Big 5 to boutique houses.  I also repped numerous book agencies, authors and illustrators selling projects to publishing and to film/TV studios.  Although my main focus was in the Kids & Family space, I also had success with more "grown up" fare as well with shows like SLOW HORSES on Apple+, cult movies like COHERENCE, and animated hits like Peter Brown’s THE WILD ROBOT at DreamWorks Animation.

As the Executive Producer for The Maze Runner trilogy at 20th Century Fox, I helped transform a best-selling series into a global blockbuster franchise earning almost $1B worldwide box office.  I was also an EP on Jerry Spinelli’s iconic YA love story STARGIRL for Disney + as well as Netflix's WENDELL & WILD, the stop motion horror comedy produced by Jordan Peele & directed by Henry Selick.

Nickelodeon called me back and so I shifted from the seller side to the buyer side, bringing in books, comics, and other forms of IP to be adapted across live action and animated film & TV.   I worked across Noggin, Nick Jr, Nick UK, Nickelodeon and even the Awesomeness brand (TO ALL THE BOYS, PEN15).

Am thrilled to have my own shingle dedicated to helping storytellers create and sell the stories they want to tell.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmJRslkkGZo

Before any author licenses their work for a TV or film adaptation, it’s important to understand the culture of Hollywood and the business realities of show business. Navigating the terrain of options and production can be difficult, but knowing what to expect can help. In this event, Eddie Gamarra, VP of Literary Affairs for Paramount Global Kids & Family, gives us the lay of the land based on his decades of experience as a book scout and executive in the world of literary adaptions.

Join us to learn about:

• The structure of Hollywood: representatives, scouts, producers, and executives • Book scouts and how Hollywood chooses books and approaches authors

• How book-to-screen deals work for authors: financial and legal concerns

• What happens when a project enters the limbo of “development hell”

Moderated by Cheryl Davis, general counsel of the Authors Guild, who will explain the key points of our Model Film and TV Option Contract.
